About
ALL WE CAN SAVE ⁰²: building an action seedbank
In the face of the climate crisis, biodiversity loss, and increasingly fragmented landscapes and communities, it is easy to dwell on all we have lost, and what we may lose. Modern cultural narratives have shifted the wonder and innocence of our childhoods to a story of extraction, displacement, disconnect - we have forgotten our roots. How do we mourn the loss of something if we've forgotten how to feel connected to it? How can we care for what we do not know?
Led by interdisciplinary artist and environmental scientist Willow Gatewood, this discussion-based workshop seeks to explore our memories of more-than-human entanglement, roots, radicalism, and agency through reframing the question, what have we lost? to what can we save?
In this ALL WE CAN SAVE session, we focus on what we can do within our own spheres of influence, collectively brainstorm tools, and imagine pathways forward by crafting “action seedbanks” - personal living repositories for radical change within our lives, organizations, communities, and world.
While participation is creative and hands-on, the workshop is not only for artists and makers, but also for designers, scientists, activists, doers - anyone working to make change within their lives or communities. Simply bring your ideas, challenges, questions, and an open mind.
The space is hosted by: Willow Gatewood, Multidisciplinary Artist/Environmental Scientist
